The most common nasal deformity is a crooked nose, which can occur due to injury or genetics. Other deformities include a bulbous nose, a deviated septum, and nostrils that are too wide or too narrow. These deformities are usually due to genetics, but can also be the result of injury. These defects may cause difficulty breathing and might require surgical intervention.
Rhinoplasty is a surgery that corrects these deformities, improving the function and appearance of the nose.
Rhinoplasty, or nose job, is a common procedure that can change the appearance and size of your nose. This surgical process involves altering skin, cartilage as well as bone all together or individually to achieve the results you’re looking for!
The different types of rhinoplasty can be divided based on the procedure of rhinoplasty and the purpose of the rhinoplasty:
Open Rhinoplasty: Open rhinoplasty is a popular procedure in which the surgeon makes an incision between one’s nostrils. This leaves behind only mild scarring that fades away gradually over time.
Closed Rhinoplasty: Closed rhinoplasty is a less invasive procedure than open surgery because it involves making incisions within the nasal cartilage and leaving behind minimal scarring.
Nose Alteration: Nose alteration rhinoplasty surgery involves changing the size of the nostril. Dr. Arun Jeedi makes small incisions that leave behind very small scars that are hidden by the nostril fold.
Rhinoplasty-Tip: In a rhinoplasty-tip procedure, the surgeon reshapes the tip of the nose by removing cartilage from it. This procedure leaves minimal scars.
Septoplasty: A deviated septum is corrected using a septoplasty. It’s frequently done at the same time as a rhinoplasty to improve both the aesthetic appeal and function of the nose.
The rhinoplasty procedure can benefit anyone who is unhappy with the shape or size of their nose. This includes those who feel that their nose is too big, too small, crooked, or misshapen in some way. One may have a humpbacked nose, a saddle nose, a depressed nose, a flat nose, a broad nose, or a wide tip; and all of these things may be corrected with rhinoplasty. It can also be beneficial for those who have trouble breathing through their nose due to a structural defect and for those who simply want to improve the overall look and feel of their nose.

During the consultation, Dr. Arun Jeedi will talk to the patient about their reasons for wanting rhinoplasty and what modifications they want to make. Dr. Arun will thoroughly examine the nose as well as the overall facial structure of the patient. Dr. Arun Jeedi will inform the patient on which type of rhinoplasty would be best for them.
Open communication between the patient and the surgeon is essential, according to Dr. Arun Jeedi . As a result, Dr. Arun will tell the patient all there is to know about the operation, including any risks and anticipated outcomes. Dr. Arun Jeedi will answer any queries or concerns that patients may have, as well as ensure that they have realistic expectations of the treatment.
The following are the stages of rhinoplasty surgery:
Step 1: Anesthesia (general or local) will be used.
Step 2: The incisions will be made either internally or externally, dependent on the form of rhinoplasty (open or closed).
Step 3: Dr. Arun Jeedi will then reshape the nose based on the patient’s requirements and the rhinoplasty procedure’s goal, whether it is:
Step 4: The surgeon will perform a septoplasty to repair breathing difficulties by straightening the nose if the patient has a deviated septum.
Step 5: The surgeon will then suture the incisions after achieving the desired form of the nose.
After the procedure, you’ll be given a splint to keep your nose straight. After a few days, the splint will be removed. A nasal pad will be placed under the nostrils after the rhinoplasty to catch any drip or blood from the nostrils. Packs may be used to obstruct the nostrils for 24 hours in order to prevent this flow. The trauma of surgery might cause swelling of the lining of the nose, resulting in a sensation that the nose is blocked up. This feeling can last anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months. Following rhinoplasty surgery, there is usually bruising and swelling, which should go away after 3-6 weeks.
You may experience some difficulty opening your eyes after surgery due to the swelling. This quickly improves after the next day. If needed, ice packs (to reduce swelling) will be placed inside the nose and over the eyes to minimize bruising. You will be advised to take time off from work to allow the site to heal. Dr. Arun Jeedi may also recommend pain medication to help ease any discomfort you may feel.
Dr. Arun Jeedi will tell you how to take care of the wound after surgery, like avoiding extreme vigorous exercise and extreme facial expressions, and bathing instead of showering until the healing process is complete. You must attend regular follow-up appointments with Dr. Arun Jeedi to monitor the healing process and the results.
During the OPD consultation, after carefully examining the patient’s circumstances, assessing the patient’s goals and ambitions, as well as discussing both benefits and drawbacks of the surgery, Dr. Arun Jeedi will determine the cost of the rhinoplasty.Book Appointment
Rhinoplasty can be used to address several issues related to the nose, including:
Rhinoplasty surgery is a surgical procedure and just like any other surgical procedure, there are some risks involved. Residual deformity after rhinoplasty is a minor possibility, for which additional surgery may be required. There is also a small chance of having difficulty breathing after rhinoplasty, but generally, it only lasts for a few days. In the rare case where this problem persists, it can be corrected by Dr. Arun Jeedi who has many years of experience with rhinoplasty surgery.
Another possible risk is a hematoma (collection of blood under the skin) or seroma (collection of fluid under the skin) but they can be treated with surgical draining. Minor risks such as delayed wound healing (commonly seen in smokers) and infections can also be easily treated by Dr. Arun Jeedi .
These possible risks will be discussed in detail with Dr. Arun Jeedi during the OPD consultation. If any problems develop following rhinoplasty, Dr. Arun Jeedi will take all necessary measures to help ensure your safety and comfort while also addressing any concerns you may have.
